Bom dia!
Well another week has gone and January is almost
over. I swear someone has put time on fast forward. It's kind of ridiculous.
But, our week was really good and the only thing missing was someone getting
baptized. But it's ok because all of our hard work is paying off. Heavenly
Father has blessed us with a ton of prepared people and the next couple weeks
are going to be awesome!
We had a lot of success this week and the
members are really starting to get excited about the work. Prepared people are
just appearing out of nowhere again and as a result, we are super busy. We
still have a lot of work to do in order to prepare these people but they have
such a strong desire and the Spirit has been working with them since before we
found them. It's amazing that you can work your butt off, trying to do anything
to find people to teach, and find nothing, but when you think you have tried
everything, people just start appearing out of nowhere. It really just shows to
me that Heavenly Father does not need us to do His work but He allows us to
have success based on our faith and our willingness to serve. There are so many
more people here who are ready to receive the gospel I know that He is going to
continue sending His children to us.
The days have been getting hotter but once the
sun finally gets behind Brava, it gets really cool out. I love Sao Filipe and I
really hope I get to stay here for a long time. It's so peaceful here and the
people are amazing. Plus they have the best Crioule that I have heard so
far.
Not too much else happened this
week. We taught a man in English yesterday and I can't do it! I prayed in
English for the first time since Assomada and it was so hard! Everything just
wanted to come out in Portuguese... I may or may not have troubles with that
when I come home. The guy we taught was sweet though and we had a good lesson.
Also we received 360 Book
of Mormons this week!!! FINALLY! There was a huge delay on the shipment and we
had 0 books. Now we are set and ready to go. Have a good week!
